Slominski under the cover of darkness found a locked bicycle with a bicycle pump attached to the frame. He the used a hacksaw to cut the pump and the frame it was attached to away from the bicycle instead of simply pulling the pump away from its clips leaving the frame intact. The pump and section of the frame are then presented as the art object. The idea of this and other pieces of Slominski's work are the pieces of "art" are embedded with the story of the absurd action that preceded them. This story telling is an important feature of his work, acting to spread word of the work in a myth or folk tale fashion by the visitors of the exhibition or the critics.
